The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Binh Thuan province held on August 17 the 8th congress at Phat An pagoda located in Dong Nai province.
Attending the event included Most Venerable President of VBS Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, a large number of Buddhist dignitaries from the central and provincial VBS and over 300 delegates representing Buddhists in the locality.
The congress discussed results of social, religious activities of the VBS Chapter in the province in the 7th term (2012-2017) and approved working plans for the 2017-2022 tenure.
The one-day congress also elected 56 members to the VBS’s Executive Committee in the province for the 2017 – 2022 tenure with Venerable Thích Minh Nhật nominated as the Committee Chairman.
On this occasion, the central VBS Executive Council presented certificates of merit to Buddhist groups and individuals for their contributions in Buddhist affairs over the past years.
