The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Bac Ninh province held on December 25 a meeting for reviewing its performance 2019 and outlining plans 2020.
The event was chaired by Senior Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Thanh Phụng and attended by members of the provincial Buddhist committee and VBS’s executive boards in districts of Bac Ninh.
Guests at the event included Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the province Nguyễn Văn Triển and Acting Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Chu Quang Hảo.
As reviewed at the meeting, in 2019, the provincial VBS has disseminated the Law on Belief and Religion 2016 and Decree 162 to key Buddhists in the province, appointed heads of 16 worshipping places, and completed reconstruction and renovation of Bach Mon, An Dong, Linh Coc and Dan pagodas.
The Buddhist Chapter in the province have also actively engaged in social charities and presented 9281 gift sets worth 5.4 billion VND for the disadvantaged in the locality over the past year.
