VBS Chapter in Ba Ria – Vung Tau supports flood victims in Central region

From October 20-24, a charity delegation of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Excutive Committee from Ba Ria Vung Tau paid a charity visit to flood victims in Central provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Quang Binh and Ha Tinh.

The delegation was led by Venerable Chief of the Office under the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Thiện Thuận and attended by Most Venerable Standing Deputy Head of the Central VBS Propagation Committee Thích Quang Nhuận and Most Venerable Deputy Head of the VBS Central Cultural Affairs Committee Thích Hải Ấn.

Beside offering each of three poor households in Thua Thien Hue province VND 40 million for rebuilding their houses damaged by floods, the delegation presented 2550 gift sets to flood victims in districts of A Luoi (Thua Thien Hue province), Le Thuy (Quang Binh province) and Huong Khe (Ha Tinh province).

These gift packages included 10 kg of rice, one box of noodle, soy sauce, medicines ... and 200,000 VND in cash.

Funding for charity visit was over VND 1.2 billion and raised by Venerable Thích Thiện Thuận and Nun Deputy Head of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Social and Charity Board Thích nữ Tiến Liên, from Buddhists in the country and abroad.
