Buddhist affairs in the first six months 2018 by the executive committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Ba Ria - Vung Tau has been reviewed at a meeting held on August 8 in Van Phat Quang pagoda located in Phu My town.
The meeting was chaired by Most Venerable Thích Quảng Hiển, Member of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s executive committee in the province.
As reported at the meeting, Buddhist followers in Ba Ria – Vung Tau have contributed over VND 37 billions to social charities in the locality, including the operation of four charity kitchens at local hospitals and charity visits to people with disabilities, victims of Agent Orange, orphans and other disadvantaged people in the locality.
The meeting also gave comments to draft amendments of the operating regulation of the central committee for monk affairs and informed of members of the provincial executive committee joining functioning committees of the central VBS for the 2017-2022 tenure.
