Attending the congress included Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, Most Venerable Chairman of the An Giang provincial VBS Executive Committee, and 540 delegates representing monks, nuns and followers in the locality.

Guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thanh Bình.

The one-day congress elected 66 members to the new-term VBS Executive Committee for 2017 – 2022 tenure and 33 members to the Executive Commtee’s standing board, with Most Venerable Thích Huệ Tài reelected as the Committee Chairman.
