The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Central Guidance Committee for Buddhist Family kicked off a Buddhist camp for leading Buddhist youths in Southern region at the opening ceremony held on April 30 at Phuoc Son Buddhist monastery in Dong Nai province’s Bien Hoa city.
Attending the camp’s opening ceremony included Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS Buddhist Guidance Committee Thích Chơn Không, Most Venerable Head of the Dong Nai provincial VBS Buddhist Guidance Board Thích Huệ Tâm, dignitaries of Phuoc Son monastery and about 270 key Buddhist youths from the provinces and cities of Ho Chi Minh, Can Tho, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Vinh Long and Hau Giang.
Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Quốc Vũ and local authorities’ representatives also joint the event.
Reportedly, the training camp for Buddhist youths held from April 29 to May 3 was a great opportunity for young Buddhists to exchange Buddhist knowledge and experiences in order to become real Buddhists, contributing to the development of the Buddhist family.
