Unique pagoda worshipping two princesses of Tran Dynasty

Ho Son pagoda located in Lien Minh commune, Nam Dinh province’s Vu Ban district worships Buddha and two princesses of Tran Dynasty including Huyền Trân and Thuỵ Bảo.  

The pagoda has been recognized as the provincial historical and cultural site for its historical values and unique architecture.

Over 700 years, many ancient artifacts have still been preserved in the pagoda including 27 Buddhist statutes, 27 worshipping objects, ancient letters, statutes of two princesses and five recognition documents.

According to Senior Venerable Thích Nhận Trực, Abbot of Ho Son pagoda, the pagoda has served not only as a venue for important Buddhist ceremonies such as Buddha's Birthday, the Parents Day festival, but also a place for cultural activities of locals. Ho Son pagoda festival is held annually from 9 to 14 of the fourth lunar month with many activities including palanquin procession, incense offerings and folk games, etc.
