With the aim to help contestants in the national high school exams, especially poor students in remote areas, Tuyen Quang provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee has conducted a program for providing free meals for contestants.
At Nguyen Van Huyen High School - the largest exam location in Tuyen Quang city, the provincial VBS Executive Committee on the first day of the exam has distributed 600 lunch meals with about VND 50,000 thousand per meal.
Venerable Thích Thanh Phúc, Deputy Head of the provincial VBS Executive Committee said the free-meal program aimed to join with the society in caring for the future generation of the country.
Student Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuy of Thang 10 High School in Yen Son district shared about the meal that it’s very tasty, hygienic and suiting the students’ taste so they enjoined the meal very much.
It’s reported that Tuyen Quang provincial authorities also provided free accommodation in the dormitories for up to 1,000 candidates and their accompanying relatives and gave away VND 500,000 to each student having to travel over 8km to exam locations.
