Truong Ba temple festival was formally opened on May 30 in Quang Ngai province’s Tra Bong district, attracting thousands of visitors to the district this year.
Located 52 km to the northwest of Quang Ngai City, Truong Ba Temple worships Thien Y A Na (Lady Po Nagar), the holy mother of the Cham ethnic community in the south central region. It is also dedicated to Bui Ta Han and Mai Dinh Dong for their contributions to the development of the land.
The temple was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the national historic site in 2014 and named as the national cultural heritage in 2017.
Gong performances
The festival held from May 30 – Jun 1 featured a wide range of activities such as flower garlands ritual, Buddhist rituals, Kylin and dragon dancing, “ca dao” singing and dancing, gong performances, folk games and an exhibition on handicraft products made from bark of the cinnamon tree.
