Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen monastery holds an inaugurations ceremony

An inauguration ceremony of Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen monastery was held on May 17, 2014 at My Khanh commune, Phong Dien district, Can Tho city. 

Attending the ceremony were Former Secretary- General of Communist Party of Vietnam Lê Khả Phiêu; Most Ven. Thích Thiện Nhơn, Standing Vice President of the Executive Council cum General Secretary of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS); representatives from central and local authorities and dignitaries from the Executive Council of the VBS, the Executive Board of VBS in Southern provinces.

Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen monastery is located in Lo Vong Cung (Arc-shaped Road) historical relic site in Can Tho city. Its construction was started on July 16, 2013. Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen monastery is located in an area of about 38,016.6 m2 with total cost VND 145 billion (US$6.9 million) funded by donors throughout the country.

On behalf of local authorities, Mr. Lê Văn Tâm – Vice Chairman of Can Tho People’s Committee attended and delivered a speech at the inauguration ceremony
