The Steering Committee for Human rights in An Giang province held on December 14 a training conference on human rights affairs for key local personnel tasked with human rights affairs in the province.

The event saw the presence of Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thanh Bình; Major General Nguyễn Văn Kỷ, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs under Ministry of Public Security cum Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the Government's Human Rights Steering Committee; M.A Trần Chi Mai, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department under the Central Committee for Ethnic Affairs, and about 240 key cadres tasked with human rights affairs from provincial departments and agencies in the locality.
The training covered topics on the convention on elimination of all forms of racial discrimination, promotion of the rights of ethnic minorities in Vietnam, dialogues on democracy and human rights through bilateral and multilateral forums, rights and limitations of rights, and the fight against activities abusing belied and religious freedom in Vietnam by hostile elements, etc.
