Every year, the traditional boat racing festival in Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province is held on September 2 on Kien Giang River.
The boat racing festival is one of cultural activities of the local residents with the aim to pray for favorable weather, bumper crops, promote physical exercise amongst people and celebrate Independence Day.
This year’s festival is expected to see competitions amongst 24 male teams and 8 female group which will be divided into two groups of A and B for a total racing length of about 20km along the river.
