Chairman Nguyễn Văn Khang of Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee led a delegation to extend a traditional new year visit to My Tho Cathedral on March 2.
Welcoming the delegation were Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm of My Tho Diocese; Priest Paul Trần Kỳ Minh, the Cathedral’s Vicar General; Priest Joseph Phạm Thanh Minh, Chairman of Tien Giang provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics and Priests from the Cathedral Office.
During the welcoming reception, Chairman Nguyễn Văn Khang extended best wishes to Bishop Nguyễn Văn Khảm, Priests and Catholic followers in the locality.
The Bishop took the chance to thank local authorities for creating favorable conditions to religious activities of local Catholics over the years and pledged together with priests to encourage Catholic followers to comply with the law in their religious practices.
