The Protestant Representative Committee under the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (ECVN) (South) in Tien Giang province held a meeting on November 16, to elect members of the new committee for the 2016 – 2017 tenure at My Tho Protestant chapter in My Tho city.
The meeting was chaired by Pastor Member of the ECVN (Southern) Trần Thanh Dũng, and attended by 29 pastors, commissioned pastors and missionaries from nine Protestant chapters in locality.
Local guests at the meeting included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Văn Khuê and local authorities’ representatives.
After religious rituals, Pastor Trần Thanh Dũng read the decision of the ECVN on the election for the new Representative Committee and guided delegates to vote using secret ballot.
For the election result, Pastor Trần Thiên Tứ was reelected as Head of the Protestant Representative Committee, Pastor Phạm Thanh Loan and Pastor Nguyễn Ngọc Sáng were chosen as Commissioners of the Committee for the 2016-2016 period.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Văn Khuê presented the certificate of merit by Minister of Home Affairs to Pastor Trần Thiên Tứ, Chairman of the Protestant Representative Committee in Tien Giang province.
It’s reported that on the occasion of reviewing ten-year implementation of Prime Minister’s Directive, Minister of the Home Affairs decided to award the Home Affair Ministry’s certificate of merit to Pastor Trần Thiên Tứ for his outstanding contributions in encouraging Protestant followers to proactively participate in patriotic emulation movements and practically implement the motto “better religious and secular life” in the locality.
