The Steering Committee for Human Rights in Tien Giang province held on January 10 a conference to review its performance in 2017.
The event saw the participation of Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee cum Chairman of the provincial Steering Committee for Human Rights Trần Thanh Đức, and representatives from concerning provincial agencies and departments and 11 district-level authorities in the province.
The conference discussed results of the protection of human rights in 2017 including the State governance on religious affairs, as well as pointed out shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome in the coming time.
Addressing the event, Chairman of the provincial Steering Committee for Human Rights in Trần Thanh Đức asked the provincial Steering Committee for Human Rights for continuing the dissemination of the Law on Belief and Religion and related legal documents including the government decree No.162/2017/ND-CP on detailing a number of articles and providing measures for the implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion which was issued on December 30, 2017.
