Tien Giang province: Binh Duc Vietnam Caodai Church holds congress (2015-2020)

On December 11-12, Binh Duc Vietnam Caodai Church successfully organized its Humanity Council congress for 2015-2020 tenure in Trung An district of My Tho city.

Attending the congress were dignitaries of Church’s five Religious Institutes, Executive Committee, dignitaries, deacons, followers from local management boards and representatives from other religious organizations, with the total of about 600 delegates.

Distinguished guests at the congress included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Tấn Hùng, Chairman of the provincial Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Trần Long Thông and Deputy Director of Home Affairs Department Nguyễn Quốc Thắng.

The congress reviewed religious activities in the first term (2010-2015) tenure and mapped out the working plans for next team, as well as approved the Charter amendment and  elected the new Executive Committee consisting of nine members.

On this occasion, Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to one collective and two individuals for their outstanding contributing to social activities in the locality.

Binh Duc Vietnam Caodai Church was established in 1961 at Chau Thanh district of Tien Giang province (now Trung An commune, My Tho city). In 2010, the Church has been granted the registration certificate for religious activities and one year later obtained the religious organizational status by the Government Committee for Religious Affairs in 2011. Currently, the Church has about 3,000 followers, over 1,000 dignitaries and 6 parishes located in the provinces of Tien Giang, Long An, Ben Tre and Dong Thap.
