The new preaching hall of Thien Tuong pagoda in Ha Tinh province’s Hong Linh provincial city has been inaugurated at a ceremony held on December 24.
The event taking place on occasion of the death anniversary of the founder of the pagoda saw the presence of Venerable Thích Viên Như, Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council cum Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS chapter; Venerable Thích Chánh Thành, Head of the VBS’s executive board in Hong Linh cum Abbot of Thien Tuong pagoda; representatives from local authorities, and a large number of Buddhists in the province.
Thien Tuong pagoda was built in the early of 19th century and was classified as the national scene relic in 2005.
According to Venerable Thích Chánh Thánh, the construction work of the preaching hall of Thien Tuong pagoda was started in 2019 on area of 420 m2 with two stories. The total construction cost is over 2.5 billion VND, which has been raised amongst Buddhists and other contributors.
