The Secondary School of Complementary Pali Education in Southern Vietnam concludes academic year 2013 – 2014

On May 28 2014, the Secondary School of Complementary Pali Education in Southern Vietnam held a closing ceremony for academic year 2013 – 2014 

According to the report of the Secondary School of Complementary Pali Education in Southern Vietnam, from the beginning of school year, teachers and students actively took part in school’s activities such as: studying and following the ideology and moral example of President Ho Chi Minh; implementing of the movements and campaigns of the education and training sector. At the end of school year, the school has about 209 students in secondary school and high school levels from the Khmer Theravada pagodas in the Mekong River Delta. In addition to the subjects prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training on regular education system, the school also taught Khmer and Pali language.

The results of school year showed about 70 percent students reached good and excellent level, 30 percent students in average level; the qualification of Khmer grade 9 and Pali language reached 100%

Mr. Lý Thanh Hưng, Principal of the Secondary School of Complementary Pali Education in Southern Vietnam said that these achievements were due to efforts of officials, teachers and students, improved supporting facilities as well as the attention of the State and Party in offering scholarships for students.

Since its establishment, the school trained nearly 1,000 monks who are ethnic Khmer in the Southern.
