The Dong Nai People’s Council holds a meeting with voters representing religious organizations in the locality

On May 16 and 17, 2014, the Dong Nai People’s Council held a meeting with voters representing dignitaries, deacons, believers and religious organizations in the locality prior to the 10th session of the provincial People’s Council (8th term)

This is the first time the provincial People’s Council met with voters who are representatives from religious organizations in the locality to listen to thoughts and aspiration of believers regarding economic development and social security in the locality.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Trần Văn Tư, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Mr. Nguyễn Thành Trí, Vice – Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, representatives from agencies and departments of Dong Nai province and 450 dignitaries, deacons and believers in the locality.

At the meeting, on behalf of religious organizations, dignitaries, deacons and believers supported viewpoints and guidelines of Vietnam’s Party and State in foreign policies and settlement of disputes in the East Sea by peaceful means. Besides, they suggested State authorities create more favorable conditions for religious activities, granting of land - use right certificate, providing construction license for religious establishments and establishing of new grassroots religious organizations.

Mr. Trần Văn Tư, Chairman of provincial People’s Council took notes of the opinions of dignitaries, deacons and believers in order to report to the 10th session of provincial People’s Committee. He also extended best wishes to dignitaries, deacons and believers and expressed his hope that they will continue to encourage believers to live “better secular and religious life” and proactively take part in movements for social and economic development in the locality.
