On August 3, 2014, the biggest calligraphy Ullambana Sutra was granted a certificate by the Centre for Vietnam Book of Records and a vegetarian food festival was held in Thien Chanh pagoda (Khuong Viet street, Phu Trung ward, Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh city).

Thích Quảng Tiến, Abbot of the pagoda stated that the Parents’ Day Festival is a meaningful occasion for people to express gratitude towards their parents. This year, beside the vegetarian food festival with hundreds of vegetarian dishes and painting exhibition - calligraphy bearing the messages of the parents, the biggest calligraphy Ullambana Sutra in Vietnam written by calligrapher Võ Dương completed in 2 years is a special festival event.
Mr. Lê Minh Hải, Chairman of the Phu Trung ward’s Vietnam Fatherland Front shared about filial piety and highlighted practical works to show filial respect to their parents in the Parents’ Day Festival at Thien Chanh pagoda. On this occasion, Venerable Thích Quảng Tiến presented a contribution worth 24 million VND to Phu Trung ward.
