On June 8, 2014, Abbot of Hiep Long pagoda held a ceremony to install a Buddha statute in Hiep Long pagoda at Cay Da village, Hiep Thanh commune, Go Dau district, Tay Ninh province
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Trang Văn Hải, Deputy Director of Home Affairs, Chairman of Tay Ninh province Committee for Religious Affairs, Most Ven. Thích Huệ Tâm, Deputy Head of Executive Board of Tay Ninh province’s Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, representatives from local authorities, Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in the locality.
At the ceremony, Mr. Trang Văn Hải highly appreciated the efforts by Venerable Thích Nguyên Tấn – Abbot of Hiep Long pagoda and Buddhist followers in the locality and expressed his hope that Buddhist monks, nuns and followers will continue to uphold the spirit of unity and mutual assistance in order to preserve and upgrade the pagoda until its completion.
Mr. Hai also briefed information on East Sea situation and strongly condemned China’s illegal acts and violation of Vietnam’s sovereignty and jurisdiction rights over Hoang Sa islands. He urged Buddhist monks, nuns and followers to keep calm and have faith in leadership of the Party and State in settling the East Sea situation.
At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thích Huệ Tâm expressed his thanks to local authorities and urged Hiep Long pagoda continue to promote the spirit of unity, and provide necessary guidance and support for followers in the locality to practice religion according to Buddhist teachings and well observe policies and guidelines of the Party and State./.
