Cardinal Thượng Tám Thanh, President of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s Executive Committee led a delegation to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the temple worshipping Mother Buddha on October 21 in Bau Nang commune, Duong Minh Chau district.
Attending the ceremony were about 500 Caodai dignitaires and followers inside and outside the province.
Local guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Vĩnh Thế.
It’s reported that, Bau Nang Caodai parish, formerly named De Luc parish, and was established in 1961. Its Mother Buddha worshipping temple was built by temporary materials in 1967 and the temple was degraded after over 40 years of existence.
In early 2015, the local authorities approved for the Management Board of the parish to rebuild its temple designed according to the Church’s model.
