The Tay Ninh Caodai Church held on October 23 the general congress for the 2017-2022 tenure at Tay Ninh Holy See located in Tay Ninh province’s Hoa Thanh district.
Attending the event were dignitaries from the Tay Ninh Caodai Church and over 5,000 delegates representing 409 parishes of the Church in 37 provinces and cities in the country.
Distinguished guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng and representatives from concerning central agencies and local authorities.
The one-day congress reviewed the Church’s activities in the 2012-2017 term and mapped out working plans for the next term, as well as gathered comments to be submitted to the Church and approved a list of dignitaries, deacons and followers for higher ordainment or new religious posts.
As reported at the event, for the 2012-2017 tenure, the Tay Ninh Caodai Church has recorded many good results in religious affairs, including the 90th founding anniversary, the ordainment of over 2,000 dignitaries, the construction of 26 new oratories and 13 Mother Goddess worshipping temples, etc.
The Church also contributed over VND 70 billion to medical charities and support for poor people.
Acknowledging Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s positive contributions over the past five years, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng expressed hope that the Church would countinue encouraging followers to actively participate in social movements and promoting unity in the country.
