Tam Hiep Pagoda, also known as Serey Vongsa Bopharam Temple located in Ca Mau’s Tran Van Thoi district was formally recognized a provincial historical relic at a solemn ceremony held on October 15.
The ceremony saw representatives of local authorities of and a large number of Khmer Buddhists.

As reported at the event, Tam Hiep Pagoda was built in 1926 and has made many contributions to the revolutionary force during the wars against French and American forces. During the wars, the pagoda used to be the hiding place for many well-known revolutionaries, and provided important supports to movements for national independence.
Tam Hiep Pagoda currently preserves unique architectural traits and cultural identities of Khmer people. It is not only a place of Buddhist worship but also a cultural center and especially a venue for teaching and learning Khmer language during summers.
This is the second Khmer pagoda classified as the provincial historical relic in Ca Mau province.
