The Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Da Nang city launched on November 14 a program providing homestay for Lao students studying in universities in the city in 2023.
Attending the event included representatives of concerning agencies, the municipal Women's Union, the people’s committees in the city, universities where Lao students are studying, Tam Bao pagoda in the city, and Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Da Nang city.
The program aims to create favorable conditions for Lao students to learn Vietnamese language and culture, contributing to consolidate the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
As reported, the program is expected to run from November 26 to December 12.
Tam Bao pagoda will receive eight of the total of 147 Lao students in the city, according to the list of the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in the city. The pagoda will provide free accommodations and transportation for these students including four Buddhist monks during the program.
