The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Phu Tho province held on July 5 a ceremony for starting Dharma preaching of the summer Buddhist retreat 2019 in the province.
Attending at the event included Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS in the province Senior Venerable Thích Minh Nghiêm, Vice Chairman of the provincial religious affairs committee Nguyễn Hữu Cầu, Buddhist monks and nuns and over 4,000 followers in the province.
The summer Buddhist retreat 2019 in the province opened on June 18 and will conclude on September 12. It’s taking place in Bao Ngan pagoda located in Phu Tho province’s Viet Tri city and drew the participation of 103 Buddhist monks and nuns.
