Accordingly, the festival organizing committee was asked to develop a plan to ensure waterway traffic safety and assign tasks to concerning units, as well as strengthen propaganda and dissemination of the law on waterway traffic to people in the localities.

The Inland Waterway Sub-Department of Region III also asked for banning watercrafts that do not meet the regulations on registration, lifebuoys, overload, and unlicensed vehicle drivers to participate in the festival.

Nghinh Ong festival annually held from the 14th to 16th of the second lunar month in Song Doc town of Tran Van Thoi district is one of the major folk belief festivals of Ca Mau province.

The three-day festival often features rituals of parade and procession on the river by fishing boats and waterway vehicles. In previous years, there were often hundreds of large and small vehicles carrying many people in groups to the coastal area for five to seven kilometers to perform these rituals.
