Traditional spring festivals usually include ritual ceremonies and recreational and cultural activities.

The Hung Temple Festival in Phu Tho province, the Perfume Pagoda Festival in Hanoi, the Yen Tu Festival in Quang Ninh province, the Dong Da Victory Festival in Hanoi, the Tran Temple Seal-Opening Festival in Nam Dinh province, the Lim Festival in Bac Ninh province, and the Ba Den mountain festival in Tay Ninh province are the most popular spring festivals.

Spring festivals often embrace folk culture and contribute to the preservation and promotion of Vietnamese national culture. Cultural and religious activities at the festivals celebrate the beauty of Vietnamese customs that have been passed down through generations.

Dr. Trần Hữu Sơn, former Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Folklore Association, said: "The spring festival is the first festival of the year. At the festival, people open their hearts and feel refreshed and eager to explore new things. They feel they are returning to their homeland, to their roots. The festivals bring people closer. The atmosphere of the New year inspires everyone to dream of new things, of the best and most beautiful things."

A Spring Festival at the beginning of the year is always associated with beautiful and traditional values. The festivals recall the nation's heroic history and contribute to honoring and preserving the national cultural identity.
