A ceremony for inaugurating a sport facility within Kim Cang pagoda located in Binh Thanh commune of Long An province’s Thu Thua district was held on December 7.
Jointing the ceremony included Most Venerable Thích Minh Thiện, Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in the province, Colonel Nguyễn Công Anh, Vice Chairman of Political Affairs Department of Military Region 7, and Colonel Trần Vinh Ngọc, Political Commissar of the provincial Military Command.
The sport facility built within Kim Cang pagoda is part of a cooperation program signed between the VBS executive committee and the provincial Military Command on October 22, 2020, aimed at meeting the need of physical training and exercise of Buddhists and local people, and strengthening the solidarity between the provincial armed forces and religious communities in the province.
Buddhist dignitaries and officers visit indoor-sport equipment
As reported at the event, the sport facility has the total investment of 630 million VND in which the Military Region 7 Command donated 400 million VND, and the rest is funded by the pagoda.
