Southwest branch of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics conducts religious survey in Kien Giang

A delegation of the Southwest branch of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics organized on July 4 a religious study tour in Kien Giang province.  

The study tour is part of a scientific research project of the branch for collecting information on the role of deacons of Buddhism, Caodaism and Hoa Hao Buddhism in encouraging followers to implement the law on belief and religion in the Mekong Delta.

The delegation led by Dr. Deputy Director Huỳnh Thành Quang had exchange meetings with the White Cloth Caodai Church, Phat Quang pagoda and the Hoa Hao Buddhist church’s executive board in the province.

During the meetings, the delegation and local religious organizations had exchanges on the implementation of the belief and religious law amongst religions in the locality.

According to local religious organizations, in addition to advantages in the law implementation process, there have been difficulties in the registration of religious collective-practicing places for religious followers of groups have not met requirements for being recognized as dependent organizations.
