On the occasion, the culture, sport and tourism department in collaboration with Tra Vinh University will host a seminar on the Du Ke drama art, an art form established in the Vietnam South and closely associated with the spiritual life of Khmer people for hundreds of years.

The second Southern Cuisine Festival and Cultural and Tourism Week associated with Ok-Om-Bok Festival 2020 aimed to improve the material and spiritual life of local people through tourist promotion and art performances preserving and promoting fine cultural values.

The Ok-Om-Bok festival received the title of ‘National Intangible Cultural Heritage’ in 2014. Ok-Om-Bok, a moon worshipping ritual performed by the Khmer ethnic group, is one of the three main festivals they celebrate every year. The Khmer traditionally believe that the moon is a God who controls the weather and crops throughout the year. The festival takes place at full moon in the 10th lunar month.
