A solemn ceremony to mark the 90th anniversary of Caodaism was held in Hanoi on October 12 by Caodai Churches and organizations.
On the occasion, President Trương Tấn Sang and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Phạm Quang Nghị sent a bouquet of flowers to congratulate Caodai dignitaries and followers.
Attending the ceremony included Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Trần Thanh Mẫn, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Dương Ngọc Tấn, representatives from central agencies and Hanoi’s authorities, dignitaries representing other religions of Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Minh Su and Minh Ly faiths.
The anniversary was held in collaboration between Caodai sects of the Bright-Verity Way Caodai Church, the Verity Path Caodai Church, the White Cloth Caodai Church, the Missionary Caodai Church, the Correct Path Caodai Church, the Ante-Creation Caodai Church, the Cau Kho Tam Quan Caodai Church, (Binh Duc) Vietnam Caodai Church.
Historically, Caodaism officially came into being at a ceremony held in Go Ken temple in Tay Ninh province on October, 15, 1926. Currently, Caodaism becomes a major religion in Vietnam, especially in the South, with about 2.5 million followers, 10,000 dignitaries, 30,000 deacons and over 1,300 worshipping establishments across the country.
Over the past ninety years, Caodai dignitaries and followers have well observed the State’s polices and laws, the religious Charters and regulations, and made practical contributions to the stability and development of the Great Way in the field of education, propagation, social and charity activities.

In his speech, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn praised the Caodai Churches and organizations for their achievements in last 90 years. He also expressed his hope that Caodai Churches and organizations would continue to promote unity and mutual supports in religious activities, improve material and spiritual’s life of Caodai dignitaries and followers, contributing to the national construction and defense of the country under the Church’s motto “For the country’s glory and religion’s enlightenment”.
