Social charities of Tu An Hieu Nghia Buddhist Association in An Giang

An Giang province currently has 40 worshipping places of the Tu An Hieu Nghia (Four Debts of Gratitude) Buddhist Association, with over 36,000 followers.

As reported, during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, the Buddhist association daily offered 800 meals worth over one billion VND for people in quarantine areas in the province, as well as contributed 50 tons of rice valued at 650 million VND and 500 personal protective equipment valued at 25 million VND to the Covid-19 prevention work in the locality.

In addition, the Buddhist association has presented 10,942 sets of cashes and necessities valued at over 3.2 billion VND to poor families in the province’s Tri Ton district, contributed over 270 million VND in total to the study promotion fund and the fund for the poor, handed over 20 sets of concrete columns worth 60 million VND to disadvantaged households in the district’s Ba Chuc town, and supported the constructions of two charitable houses valued at 50 million VND.

The association also contributed to upgrade a road with 105 meters long and 3.5 meters wide in the district’s Nui Nuoc village at the total cost of over 296 million VND and 350 working days, and an alley with 108 meters long and 2.5 meters wide at the cost of 27 million VND and 50 working days, as well as donated 230 million VND and 40 working days to concretize a road with 200 meters long and 3 meters wide behind Buu Quang pagoda located in Ba Chuc town’s An Hoa B village.

The total value of social and charitable project and programs is estimated at over 6.7 billion VND.
