Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Sơn Minh Thắng, Deputy Secretary of the Soc Trang province Party Committee and representatives from local authorities, teachers and students.

During the past school year 2013-2014, together with support from state authorities at various level, teachers and students of the Secondary School of Complementary Pali Education in Southern Vietnam strived to improve the quality of training subjects and exceeded the set target with nearly 70% of students classified as excellent and good students;

The Secondary School of Complementary Pali Education in Southern Vietnam is the first training school for Khmer monks in the Mekong Delta, creating favorable conditions to Theravada Buddhist training and contributing the dharma preaching by Khmer monks.

On this occasion, Soc Trang Study Promotion Association presented five scholarships "Luong Dinh Cua" to Khmer monks for overcoming difficulties and becoming excellent students. The school also presented certificates of merit to 4 teachers for excellent achievements in teaching at the school.
