Sen Village Festival 2020 to take place celebrating 130th birthday of Late President Hồ Chí Minh

Nghe An authorities held on March 6 a meeting with the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, the Voice of Vietnam and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) on the organization of Sen Village Festival 2020 for celebrating the 130th birthday of late President Ho Chi Minh.  

The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Lê Hồng Vinh.

Sen Village Festival is an annual event organized by the provincial VBS to commemorate the Buddha's birthday and President Hồ Chí Minh's birthday. The festival aims to preserve and promote cultural values of Buddhism and Ho Chi Minh's thought and morality as well as honor President Hồ Chí Minh’s contributions to the country and Buddhism.

During the event, the VBS informed main contents of the Sen Village Festival including a photo exhibition and a scientific seminar “President Ho Chi Minh and Buddhism”, a procession from Diec pagoda to Dai Tue pagoda and an art program. The main venue of the festival will be Dai Tue pagoda located in Nam Dan district.

Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Lê Hồng Vinh asked the VBS and relevant agencies to make best preparations for the festival and stated the organization of the event will also somehow depend on the situation of Covid-19 epidemic in the coming time.
