The Religion and Belief Institute under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in collaboration with Bui Chu diocese held on December 10 a seminar on Catholicism in Nam Dinh province.
The event taking place at Bui Chu diocese cathedral was co-chaired by Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Lê Quốc Chỉnh, Bishop Thomas Vũ Đình Hiệu of Bui Chu diocese and Assoc. Prof. Đỗ Lan Hiền, Director of the Institute, and attended by Chairman of the provincial Party Commission for Mass Mobilization Trần Minh Thắng, representatives from concerning central agencies and local authorities and large numbers of scholars, researchers and religious dignitaries.
The seminar has received 39 presentation papers from experts, researchers and religious dignitaries with ten of them presented during the seminar. The event contributed to clarify practical contributions by Catholicism in Nam Dinh province to the nation and the Vietnam Catholic Church, as well as proposed policies to promote resources of Catholicism in the construction and development of the country in the coming time.
