Religious organizations pays Tet visit to Hanoi municipal government

Deputy Secretary of Hanoi municipal Party Committee Ngô Thị Thanh Hằng hosted warm receptions for visiting delegations from Buddhist and Catholic churches in the city ahead of the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) 2018.

The religious delegations was led by Most Venerable Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Chapter in Hanoi Thích Bảo Nghiêm and Priest Chairman of the Committee for Catholic Solidarity in the city Antonio Dương Phú Oanh.

During visiting receptions, the Buddhist and Catholic dignitaries extended Tet greetings to Hanoi leaders and took the chance to thank the municipal authorities for facilitating Buddhist and Catholic practices and in the city.  

Speaking with the guests, while extending wishes of peace and success to all followers of Buddhism and Catholicism in Hanoi, Mrs. Ngô Thị Thanh Hằng highlighted practical contributions by local Buddhists and Catholics to socio-economic development in Hanoi. She also took the chance to brief the guests results of development targets in the city in 2017 and called on religious dignitaries to further encourage and motivate local Catholics and Buddhists to proactively join movements and programs launched by the municipal government for improving the material and spiritual life of people in the city.
