The state funeral for General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyễn Phú Trọng was held at the National Funeral House located at No.05 Tran Thanh Tong Street in Hanoi City, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 25, and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 26, 2024.

A memorial ceremony took place at 1 p.m. on July 26, and the General Secretary was buried at Mai Dich Cemetery at 3 p.m. on the same day.
The memorial service for General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng was held at the same time at Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi Minh City and in his hometown of Dong Hoi commune in Hanoi city's Dong Anh district.
In deep emotion and condolence, delegations of the Party, State, National assembly, Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front, central and local agencies, armed forces, religious organizations, and a large number of citizens have attended the state funeral to pay tribute to General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng - the Party leader having exceptionally outstanding contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
In particular, a delegation of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam led by Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng, President of the Bishops’ Conference cum Archbishop of Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese came to the National Funeral House in the afternoon of July 25 for paying tribute to General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng and offered condolences to his family.
