Religious organizations of Caodai, Minh Su, Minh Ly proactively engage in Covid-19 prevention work

With a determination to closely work with the Government and whole people in the country to early control the current Covid-19 outbreak, religious organizations of Caodai, Minh Su and Minh Ly have strengthened the communication work on the Government's directives, guidelines of the Home Affairs Ministry and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, recommendations by the Health Ministry and regulations of local authorities on the epidemic prevention measures.     

Caodaism, Minh Su and Minh Ly churches have issued dispatches sent to their representative bodies and local organizations asking for a strict implementation of  recommended measures against the epidemic prevention.

In particular, the Caodai Ante-Creation Church (Cao Dai Tien Thien) on July 28 released a notification informing the canceling of the central third quarter meeting, annual and general meetings at the grassroots-level meetings, and the national conference 2021 in order to reduce risks of the Covid-19 spread. Epidemic; Minh Ly Church on August 2 issued Notification No.13/2021/NCV/TB asking for the implementation of urgent, preventive measures against the current Covid-19 epidemic outbreak, and Notification No. 14/2021/NCV/TB informing the temporary suspension of worshipping gatherings in the 7th lunar month, etc.

In addition, churches of Caodaism, Minh Su and Minh Ly have closed all their religious worshipping places, canceled religious practices with large gatherings of people, hung banners and posters promoting the implementation of preventive measures against the epidemic prevention at religious worshipping places, as well as called on dignitaries, deacons and followers to strictly implement the 5K recommendation by the health sector the social distancing currently imposed by local authorities, and register for the Covid-19 vaccination.

Besides, these religious organizations have launched many programs for supporting people severely affected by the epidemic. The Thanh Duc parish under Caodai Tay Ninh Church located in Tay Ninh province’s Go Dau district on August 4 handed over 100 sets of necessities with the total value of over 27 million VND to disadvantaged people in the locality.

The CaoDaiTV group has presented supporting supplies to 111 poor families in Duong Minh Chau and Chau Thanh districts of Tay Ninh province with a total value of more than 30 million VND.

The Caodai parish in District 4 of Ho Chi Minh City has presented 270 sets of supplies worth nearly 60 million VND to people severely affected by the Covid-19 epidemic in the city. In addition, the parish has received and distributed more than two tons of vegetables sent to people in Ho Chi Minh City by Hoa Vang Caodai parish in Da Nang city.

The Binh Duc Caodai Church has regularly donated cash and necessities to the epidemic prevention and control forces in Trung An commune of Tien Giang province’s My Tho City.

The Minh Su Theravada Buddhist Church has presented 100 sets of necessities with the total value of 30 million VND to epidemic-hit people in Tien Giang province’s Go Cong district, and donated 600kg of rice to poor families in Bac Lieu province’s Hong Dan district.
