The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) in Tien Giang held on October 17 a meeting to review the fund raising for the poor in 2018 and launch “Month For the Poor” (October 17 – November 18).
The event was chaired by Vice President of the VFF committee in the province Huỳnh Văn Hải and attended by large numbers of representatives of local authorities, religious organizations, individuals and sponsors.
During the event, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) in Tien Giang province pledged to contribute VND six billion to the poor for 2019.
On the occasion, local authorities presented certificates of merit to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Chapter, Lien Hoa Buddhist monastery, the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) Chapter and eight Buddhists for their contributions in the movement for the poor in 2018.
