Religious organizations in Quang Tri commit to five-year coordination on environmental protection

The religious organizations, the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s provincial committee and department of natural resources and environment in Quang Tri province have signed a five-year coordination program at a meeting held on November 16.
The coordination program outlines coordination activities for environmental protection and climate change adaptation for the 2017-2022 period, including communication on current environmental and climate change situation, trainings for reduction of pollution, risk management and self-help skills in cases of environmental incidents and natural calamities, development and reduplication of good models on environmental protection, as well as promotion of lifestyles friendly to the environment.
The signed coordination aims to enhance knowledge, roles and responsibility amongst religious communities toward the protection of the natural environment, as well as mobilize their resources for the environmental protection and climate change adaptation in each residential area.
