Religious organizations in Dong Nai proactively in engage environment protection

Over the past years, religious organizations in Dong Nai province have proactively participated in environment protection and climate change adaption in residential areas, religious worshipping establishments and public space.

According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee in Dong Nai, the province currently has 296 clubs established for environmental protection and climate change adaptation in residential areas with the participation of religious followers in localities.

According to Vice Chairman of the provincial VFF Committee Nguyễn Tất Độ, practical activities implemented by religious dignitaries, followers, and people in the province included fish release to Tri An lake, tree plantation, environment cleaning, etc.

Head of the VFF board in Bao Vinh ward of Long Khanh city Nguyễn Thị Sao said that Minh Tri pagoda has established a club for environment protection with the participation of 29 lay Buddhists. The club has launched activities for proper discharge of garbage and waste in right places, planting of trees, etc.

In addition, religious organizations and worshipping establishments in the province have organized eight programs to release over 1.5 million of fish seedlings with the total value at over 1.5 billion VND.

Catholic parishioners in Dai An parish (Tan An commune of Vinh Cuu district) and Nui Do parish (Bau Sen ward of Long Khanh city) have proactively engaged in cleaning village alleys and roads and planting trees. Catholic parishes of Thanh Hoa, Lai On, Tam An in Trang Bom district have successfully motivated local parishioners and residents to build rural roads and install light systems with total contributions of over 3.5 billion VND.
