Religious organizations continue supporting Covid-19 prevention

Religious organizations throughout the country have continued applying preventive measures against the epidemic and making practical contributions to the Covid-19 prevention and control.  

According to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA), by April 3, Christian churches in Vietnam, including the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North), the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South), the Vietnam United World Mission Church and the Vietnam Mennonite Church, the Vietnam Full Gospel Church, Hanoi Christian communities (the Vietnam Words of Life Church and congregations of foreign Christians), the European-American Christian Congregation etc, have sent 1.5 billion VND, 90,820 facemasks, 1,180 protective gears, 1,500 bottles of antiseptic solution and 12.5 tons of rice to provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front committees for supporting the Covid-19 preventive efforts.

In Lam Dong province, on April 4 – 5, Da Lat Cathedral parish in Da Lat city provided 200 loads of bread and 400 lunch meals to local disadvantaged families during the their difficult time caused by the pandemic.

In Dak Lak province, local religious organizations have so far contributed 70 million VND to the work for Covid-19 prevention and control.
