The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Director of the Home Affairs Department in Kien Giang Đinh Xuân Phương and Chairman of the provincial religious affairs committee Danh Lắm, and attended by representatives of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Association for Solidarity of Patriotic Monks, White Cloth Caodai Church, Tay Ninh Caodai Church, Dazzing Bright Caodai Church, Association of Pure-Land Buddhists, Hoa Hao Buddhist Church, Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South), Rach Gia Catholic deanery and An Bien Islamic congregation in the province.

During the meeting, Chairman Danh Lắm updated information on the Covid-19 disease and stated that provincial governments are making best efforts in controlling and preventing the spread of the disease to the communities.

The provincial religious committee leader asked religious organizations to closely collaborate with the local government in preventing the spread of Covid-19, including the postponement and cancellation of religious festivals which are yet to start, and reduction of scale of religious gatherings in the locality.
