Religions in Tra Vinh join hands in Covid-10 prevention

As soon as the Chairman of Tra Vinh People’s Committee signed on May 31 a new Directive on strengthening measures to contain the Covid-19 pandemic in the the province, religious and followers in the province have proactively participated in the Covid-19 prevention and control with practical activities.

The Executive Committee of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in the province has sent dispatches to Buddhist clerics and lay people asking them to strictly implement prevention measures against the epidemic as well as support the Covid-19 vaccine fund.

In addition, religious followers and organizations of Catholicism, Protestantism, Hoa Hao Buddhism and the Pure-land Buddhist Association in Tra Vinh have strictly implemented guidlines by their central executive bodies.

All religious organizations in the province have strictly observed recommendations by local authorities including the suspension of religious gatherings, closing down of local religious worshipping places, organization of online religious practices, etc.
