Religions in Thanh Hoa join hands in fighting against Covid-19

Local organizations of religions in Thanh Hoa province have proactively joint efforts for preventing the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Responding appeals of General Secretary of Nguyễn Phú Trọng, the Vietnam President, the Prime Minister, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s chapter in Thanh Hoa has successfully mobilized resources from Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers for donating 700 million VND to the Vaccine Fund.   

Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers of pagodas in the province have also sent practical supports frontline forces in quarantine checkpoints in the province.

During the latest outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, Thanh Hoa diocese has suspended all large gatherings and instead held online masses though the communication channel of the diocese in order to meet spiritual needs of local Catholics, and asked all parishioners in the diocese to strictly observe the pandemic prevention and control measures.

Thanh Hoa diocese holds online masses for preventing spread of the Covid-19 epidemic. 

In addition, Thanh Hoa diocese in collaboration with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Thanh Hoa has presented 200 sets of essential supplies to disadvantaged people in Thanh Hoa city.
