Religions in Hanoi respond to Action Month for Environment 2022

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) in Hanoi city in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and religious organizations in Hanoi held on June 9 a ceremony to launch practical activities for environment protection and climate change adaption in response to the Action Month on Environment 2022.

Planting trees at campus of Tram Gian Pagoda

As reported at the event taking place at Tram Gian Pagoda relic site of Chuong My district, religious organizations in Hanoi have proactively implemented the coordination  program signed by the VFF in the city, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and religious organizations in the city for the 2015 -2020 and 2020-2025 periods.

Over the past years, over 3,400 models on environmental protection were initiated and efficiency operated by local religious leaders in many localities of the city

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal VFF Nguyễn Thị Kim Dung expressed hope that leaders of religious organizations in Hanoi city would promote their roles in improving public awareness and behaviors on environment protection and climate change adaption amongst religious communities and launching and expanding effective religious modes on environment protection and climate change adaption.

Presenting gifts to disadvantaged pupils with good school results

On the occasion, Superior Nun Thích Đàm Khoa, Abbess of Tram Gian pagoda presented 15 sets of gifts, worth one million VND each to pupils with good school results from disadvantaged families in Tien Phuong commune of Chuong My district.
