For recent months, religions in Binh Duong have made practical supports as well as actively raised funds and resources for flood-hit residents in the Central region.
According to statistics, in the mid-November, religions in Binh Duong province have sent reliefs of supplies and cash worth over 14 billion VND to people heavily affected by torrential rains and floods that hit the Central provinces of Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Quang Binh and Thua Thien Hue.
In particular, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province presented 17,400 relief packets (including cash and necessities), repaired 116 houses and 43 pagodas seriously damaged by floods. The total aid packages were valued at over 11 billion VND.
Local Catholic community has also donated cash and supplies, worth nearly 1.5 billion VND in total, to flood-hit people in the central provinces.
Caodaism, Protestantism and the Pure-land Buddhist Church in the province also raised funds and sent relief supplies to flood victims in the Central region.
