Reconstruction of Long Thanh Pagoda located in Tay Ninh province’s Go Dau district formally kicked off at a solemn ceremony held on July 31.
The event saw the participation of Most Venerable Thích Niệm Thới, Chairman of the executive committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Chapter in Tay Ninh, representatives of the district and local authorities and large numbers of Buddhist dignitaries and followers.
As reported, the reconstruction work will include the pagoda’s main worshipping temple and supporting facilities for better meeting Buddhist practices of followers in the locality.
Long Thanh pagoda was established in 1970 and the current abbot of the pagoda, Venerable Thích Thiện Xuân, was appointed by the VBS chapter in Tay Ninh in early 2017.
