Hung Phu Pagoda located in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province’s Tan Thanh disctrict started its reconstruction at the stone-laying ceremony held on April 4.
Most Venerable Chairman of the executive committee for the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Thích Quảng Hiển, Most Venerable Abbot of Hung Long pagoda located in Ho Chi Minh City Thích Như Tín and Chairman of the provincial committee for religious affairs Huỳnh Sơn Tuấn were amongst large numbers of Buddhist dignitaries, followers, representatives of local authorities in the province at the event.

Hung Phu pagoda, originally built in 1989 by Nun Liên Thanh, has become deteriorated after nearly 30 years of existence and no longer met current Buddhist practices inside the temple. Its reconstruction will include the main worshipping building and supporting facilities to be built on 926 square meters, at an estimated cost of VND 21 billion and financed by the pagoda’s fund-raisings.
